Early signs

It sounds like Steve Levin is doing very well in public housing buildings and the Hasidic community. The key to the outcome tonight will be whether Levin pulls heavy numbers in those Williamsburg and Gowanus districts or whether Simon pulls over 50 percent in Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill and Park Slope.

Levin has been parked for much of the day outside Taylor Wythe Houses, and the fights between the Levin and Abraham camps have been vitriolic. A source near Wyckoff Houes said that 16 volunteers including a sitting Councilman (Erik Dilan) were distributing lit outside the houses. Turnout there has been steady, though similarily high turnout is expected downtown after 5 PM. This will be a close one.
